Description
Jean Paul Marat was a journalist during the Revolution, born elsewhere but ultimately and passionately French. The Marat Chair is likewise an original Jacques Garcia design – drawing on the klismos of the Greeks and his own Paris-of-the-moment Sorbonne Lounge Chair. It is a singularly fashionable look suitable for both Host and Side applications, at both round and rectangular Dining Tables. A best of Baker dining chair. A deeply scalloped profile, a bit of tightly wrapped gainage, and a crisp welt give the Marat a sense of elite tailoring – and an obvious opportunity for a combination fabric. Very French, and very well done. Intricate front legs, with delicate flutes converging to the bottom, have an incised square capital on both sides.
